OF SYN-STAR
August 2002 - Established
- Syn-star was started by Giles Cleverley and Darryl
Saunders. The original Syn-star was at 9 Chapel street
in Petersfield. Originally as a music, game and mobile
phone store.
2003 - Darryl Saunders
left the partnership and Giles Cleverley became sole
proprietor.
A much greater focus towards Mobile phones and games.
2004 - Completely stop
selling music, a move into selling computer accessories,
2005 - Syn 2 was started
in Petersfield, with the take over of the phone shop,
in the Square. This created the split into the two stores,
the original store (syn1) was solely a phone store.
The new store was a game and computer store. Focusing
mainly on repairing and selling IT equipment and accessories.
2006 - Syn 3 was established
in Liphook through movie academy. Offering our clients
all our services through the store.
2007 - Syn 4 was created
in Albert Road, Southsea. Syn-star took over Sandy's
computers. Syn 4 is an Internet cafe and computer repairs.
2008 - A real push into
corporate IT, Huge investment into infrastructure, this
is to enable us to offer the best possible service for
our clients.
2009 - Syn 1 we decided
to close, this was the hardest step, due to it being
the original Syn-star The main reasons were due to the
mobile networks getting harder to work with, to the
point of it not enabling us to offer the high customer
service we always try to deliver.
Syn 5 was opened by the Lord Major of Portsmouth in
North End in June. This becoming our flagship store
which is over 250 sq./m.
